1977 - No.1 - Sewer User Charge

Overview:
 

WHEREAS:     The Village of Sackets Harbor will use a basic unit cost system for recovery of the cost for the Sewer Treatment Plant.

 

WHEREAS:     Unit charge = total O &M + number of units

 

WHEREAS:     Classification of Units are:

 

1 Unit = 1 Single Family Dwelling

 

Motels, Hotels, Boarding Houses = 1 Unit for every 900 sq. ft. of gross space based on outside dimensions

 

Lodges, Fraternities, Churches = 1 Units plus 1 unit if food is served 5 days/week plus 1 unit for each 100 seats beyond the first 100 seats

 

Restaurants, Taverns, etc. = 2 Units plus 1 unit if food is served 5 days/week plus 1 unit for each 50 seats beyond the first 50 seats

 

Gas Stations = 2 units plus 1 unit for every washing stall plus 1 unit if open for 24 hours/day

 

Laundromats = 1 Unit for every 100 sq. ft. of gross space based on outside dimensions

 

Commercial Laundries = 1 Unit for every 200 sq. ft. of gross space based on outside dimensions.

 

Dry Cleaners = 1 Unit for every 200 sq. ft. of gross space based on outside dimensions.

 

Schools - 1 Unit for every 15 persons.

 

Commercial Establishments, Retail Stores, etc. = 1 Unit plus 1 Unit for every 15 employees.

 

Industrial Establishments = 1 Unit for every 15 employees.

 

Building lots in served areas = unit

 

Backlands in served areas that are developable = 0-10 acres is 1 Unit; unit for each additional 50 acres.

 

Land with house = 0-10 acres is 1 Unit; 11-50 acres is units; each additional 50 acres is unit.

 

Apartments = unit

 

Trailer = 1 Unit

 

Buildings not used for profit (charges, VFW, etc.) = unit

 

WHEREAS:  Debt service will be unit charge = total principal and interest for current year + total number of units.

 

            This local law shall become effective immediately upon filing in the office of the Secretary of State of the State of New York.
